SERVICES
Obsidian Imaging Ltd. delivers professional drone services using the latest technology to capture precise and high-quality aerial data. Our solutions are designed to enhance safety, improve efficiency, and provide clear, actionable information across a variety of applications.

Wildlife Monitoring
Reliable Aerial Surveys with Minimal Disturbance
Using advanced drone technology, we provide gamekeepers and estate managers with detailed aerial imagery and video to monitor wildlife and manage habitats effectively. Our surveys cover large or difficult terrain quickly, helping you track game populations, identify potential issues, and maintain a healthy ecosystem—all without disturbing the wildlife or the environment.
Aerial Thermography
Thermal Imaging for Early Detection and Maintenance
We use high-resolution thermal imaging to identify heat loss, electrical faults, and structural issues across solar farms, infrastructure, and construction sites. Our detailed reports help you improve safety, efficiency, and maintenance planning.

-
What industries do you serve? Our services can be beneficial to numerous industries, most notably: Construction – Building inspections, roof checks, progress reporting, water ingress, etc. Energy – Solar panel inspections, thermal audits, etc. Agriculture – Crop health monitoring. Wildlife Management – Wildlife/Livestock counts.
-
How high can you fly?In the UK, drone flights are generally limited to 120 metres (400 feet) above ground level. However, if we’re operating near a structure taller than 120 metres, we are permitted to fly up to 15 metres above it, provided we remain within 50 metres horizontally of the structure. All operations are planned in accordance with CAA regulations to ensure both legal compliance and flight safety.
-
How much does it cost?At Obsidian Imaging, we offer a comprehensive suite of services tailored to deliver accurate and actionable insights. Each project includes: Detailed operational planning Pre-site risk assessments and method statements Flight permissions and local authority notifications (if needed) On-site drone operations A professional report with key findings and thermal imagery Delivery of all raw data and visuals Because every site and objective is different, we price projects individually based on factors such as coverage area, terrain, data requirements, and client goals.
-
Can you fly in bad weather?Flights are weather-dependent. High winds, rain, or poor visibility can affect safety and data quality. We’ll always monitor conditions and reschedule if necessary — at no extra cost to you.
-
Do I need to be present during the survey? It is not imperative that you join us on site. However; it can greatly enhance the detail and information captured if you do join us during the flight. Also, UAS flights are inherently interesting, and could provide an insight into how aerial imaging might be useful to you in other areas of your industry.
-
Are you qualified and insured to fly?Absolutely; we hold the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) approved General Visual Line of Sight Certificate (GVC) and the appropriate Operational Authorisation to permit flights in the 'Specific Category'. We also have fully comprehensive Public Liability Insurance, covering up to £5,000,000.
-
What types of reports will I receive? You’ll receive a comprehensive report tailored to the scope of your project — including the required imagery, annotations, key findings, and recommendations where applicable. You’ll also receive all raw image data for your own records.
-
Where in the UK do you operate? We primarily serve the Southwest of the UK, where we are based, but we can discuss projects outside this area.
